Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Thank
you TGE for a brilliant holiday. Great food. Glorious time. Exquisite scenery. Excellent
sailing. A perfect time! Sally Lowry, Santa Monica, California, May
1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Thank you Gordon and
Jenny for the trip of a lifetime! The wonders we have seen, the laughs, the friendship,
adorable Jenny with her terrific humor, and Gordon taking us through the sea in safety.
Joyce Hunsaker, Santa Monica, California, May 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Thank you both for an
absolutely marvelous trip. We had so many fun times, "and I mean fun times" full
of laughter. The sights
were varied and all wonderful. Thanks so very much. Fondly, Pat
Lintell, Redondo Beach, California, May 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Gordon, Jenny and the
jaunty TGE - what a great combination of exquisite skill, grace and beauty to create the
perfect boat to enjoy a fabulous sailing vacation. I learned a lot and had a wonderful time.
I hope to see you both again. Mike Doyle, Annapolis, Maryland, May
1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. What could be more
wonderful - all the joys of cruising without the drudge bits. It was wonderful and exciting
and we would return at the drop of a lottery win. Gordon and Jenny - you were born for this
business and should succeed beyond your wildest dreams. Thank you, and we hope we'll become
regulars. Blair Doyle, Annapolis, Maryland, May 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Thank you Gordon and
Jenny for wonderful travel, company, conversation and cuisine. Hey, we're not in Kansas
anymore! With appreciation, Joan Cavanaugh, Washington, DC, May 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Ditto. Ne plus ultra!
Thank you Jenny and Gordon. Gordon Cavanaugh, Washington, DC, May
1996
Greek Island Hopping In The Dodecanese. Gordon, thank
you for sharing with us what you found in the early 80's. It has been a great sail and a
fantastic honeymoon. Thanks for the hospitality. And friendship! Hope to again sail with you,
and soon. Jenny, I know I've already written more than some, but you deserve your own entry.
Without you this trip would not have been nearly as pleasurable. It's rare to find someone who
makes you feel happy and comfortable on the first day. Thanks for the smiles.
Jim Basilion, Brookline, Massachusetts, June 1996
Greek Island Hopping In The Dodecanese. Gordon and
Jenny, thanks for a spectacular adventure. We are leaving with lots of good memories -
beautiful islands, isolated beaches, hospitable islanders, sunset drinks on the TGE,
delicious carrot salad, hearty authentic island dinners, ample sleep, a real double bed, a
view of the culture of the
sea, and especially, good times with two new friends with whom we hope to keep in touch. You
guys are great. Have a wonderful summer. (There was no first
draft of this. It comes from the heart.) Eva Basilion, Brookline,
Massachusetts, June 1996
Greece And Turkey At Once. Gordon and Jenny, thank you
for making this the best holiday I've had. We could not have hoped for better company during
the past week of our honeymoon. Jenny, Tyler and I thoroughly enjoyed your meals as well as your
companionship. Gordon, you are an excellent sailor as well as a perfect gentleman. I commend
you for your patience with us. Thank you once again for the silk pajamas, T-shirts and hats.
They are very much appreciated. Keep in touch! Paul Dougherty, Washington,
DC, June 1996
Greece And Turkey At Once. Jenny and Gordon - Thanks
for the best honeymoon I could have imagined. It's been great. AND I MEAN GREAT!
(Be sure to repeat that like the waiter in Ekincik.) I must admit I was a little leery of
spending my honeymoon in Turkey, let alone with two complete strangers, but I loved every port
we visited and I've loved every minute with you two. We've had delicious meals on and off the
boat, and I know I will miss Jenny's yogurt and strawberries in the AM. Captain Gordon,
although I'd never sailed before, I was never frightened with you at the helm (even in those 8'
swells!). Thank you for everything....and remember you have friends and a bed in Washington.
Love, Tyler Dougherty, Washington, DC, June 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Wonderful - captain and
crew charming and professional - scenery was breathtaking - restaurants were charming and the
food delicious - glad I came to enjoy it all. Thanks. Herb Rosenberg,
Sanibel, Florida, June 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. One of the finest
vacations of my life (and I am well traveled!). I expected "good" and got
"unbelievably great." The wonderful sailing on these beautiful CLEAN waters, the
little coves with so-called
restaurants perched on rocks, our efficient captain and charming hostess, and magnificent
scenery. I loved it. Susan Rosenberg, Sanibel, Florida, June 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Our stay aboard TGE was
perfect! Esther and I found the accommodations comfortable, the crew
congenial and helpful, and our ports of call well chosen. We loved
the Turkish coastline. Marty Marks, New York City, June 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Another dimension has
been added to the richness of living, and we are grateful for it.
Esther Flashner, New York City, June 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. David and I thoroughly
enjoyed our 25th Anniversary celebration with our daughter Elizabeth and her friend Allison.
Jenny and Gordon, you are wonderful company; you showed us parts of the Turkish coast I didn't
even know existed. We had a beautiful and relaxing week on the TGE. Your yacht is comfortable
and beautiful, too. We are sorry to disembark. Sandy Van Buren, New York
City, July 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. FANTASTIC
. "And I mean fantastic," with friendly people and beautiful places. THANK
YOU!! Elizabeth Van Buren, New York City, July 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. This was to be the trip of
our lifetime - except we want to come back next year! Great fun, beautiful scenery,
conversation, sailing - and no time to read. I had a really wonderful time.
David Van Buren, New York City, July 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. I had a great time on
board. It was really fun except when I got seasick. "And I mean seasick." I hope to
hear from you and will be sure to send you a holiday card. I really like learning to sail and
hope to be able to see you again. I also hope you had as much fun with us as I had with you.
You picked great places
and were great people to sail with. I will surely remember this trip for the rest of my life
and will cherish the hat as a treasure. I will miss you and hope to hear from you. It was great
fun. Allison Patrick, New York City, July 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Gordon and Jenny, thank you
for making our honeymoon voyage of the Turkish Turquoise Coast so pleasurable! The coastline
here in the Gulf of Fethiye has it all: great scenery, wonderful restaurants, wilderness and
such pristine water. The trip will provide memories for a lifetime.
Holmes Lundt, Boise, Idaho, August 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Gordon, we knew we'd get
along when you first appeared wearing a Perot for President T-shirt. Glad you have better luck
sailing than in choosing presidents. However, the USNA lacrosse shirt is over the top (has Navy
ever beaten Johns Hopkins??). Jenny, thanks for the yummy food and giggles. Keep trying to teach
Gordon Turkish. Leslie Pedersen Lundt, Boise, Idaho, August 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. This has been a perfect
honeymoon as well as my favourite holiday of all time. We have had good company and good sailing
and I have had plenty of time to get on with the serious business - that of dismantling Gordon's
boat - piece by piece! You were great! Dusty Hughes, London, August 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Thank you for such a gentle
and instructive introduction to life on boats. Sea sickness aside, I haven't had so much fun in
ages. You were great, perfect hosts and marvellous company. Hope all our post-wedding billing
and coo-ing didn't put you off tying the knot yourselves. We loved it.
Jessica Hughes, London, August 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Thank you for sharing with
us the beauty of the Turkish coast; the color of the water will remain a lifelong memory. The
paragliding was a highlight for Donald, and I enjoyed cooking in Ali's kitchen; the next time he wants three bowls of
chicken-noodle soup, he should call me. We enjoyed the hospitality of the Turkish people, and
early morning and early evening were treasurable moments. The best of luck to you both and your
new family. Alexandra Rosen, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Donald Cooney, Long
Island, New York, August 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Oya and I had a perfect time.
Everything was wonderful, the boat, the sailing, the scenery, the small harbors, and, of course
and especially, Gordon and Jenny. They were the perfect hosts and sailing companions. The four
of us got along great and became friends. Our deepest thanks. Tom
Christopher, Istanbul, August 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Hayatimin en guzel uc
gununu T.G. Ellyson 'da ruhum Tom, Gordon ve Jenny ile gecirdim donmek gercekten cok uzucu.
Tesekkurler. Kisa zamanda gorusmek uzere. Oya Erdel, Istanbul, August
1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Gordon and Jenny, thank
you for making our trip the best vacation ever. Everything was terrific - the sailing, the
food, the scenery, the people - but most importantly, your friendship and hospitality. We hope
you will visit us soon in New York and will look forward to seeing you same time next year!!!
xxx Debra & Peter Collings, New York City/Sydney, September 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. We've had a great holiday -
great company, great yacht. We all had a lot of laughs. We now have two new friends in Jenny
and Gordon, soon to be three. Brian Folbigg, London/Sydney, September
1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. After being away from home
for eighteen months, getting onto T.G. Ellyson was just like being back at home. I love your yacht and
thoroughly relaxed. A week here was equal to a month of relaxation elsewhere. We're all looking
forward to our Greek island trip next year. Carole Liivrand, London/Sydney,
September 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Dear Jenny and Gordon, It
was great to have spent time on your splendid boat. I think I am going to take up sailing as it
is very relaxing (when you know how to do it!!!). We will certainly recommend you guys to all of
our friends. Luca DiPietro, New York City/Tuscany, September 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Luca and I came here in
search of an escape from New York. We found it - at Deep Bay, Gemiler Island, Tomb Bay. Thank you
for showing us places of such beauty and treating us to the luxury of T.G. Ellyson. We won't soon
forget your good company nor your lovely sailing boat. Best of luck with your baby!
Kate DiPietro, New York City, September 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday.
The first day aboard T.G. Ellyson
We headed to Deep Bay for swimming and fun
Made new friends, ate great food, drank glasses of grog
And didn't sleep much cause of a miserable dog
The next day a nice trip to Cold Water Bay
Where we made plans for the following day
An hour's drive to glide from the peak
Of Baba Dag's top is not for the meek
Then on to Tomb Bay and some fresh octopus
Caught from the waters in front of us
Next morn we left on a hike to Lydae
One of the highlights, and Gordon's idea
Our final night spent in Gocek Town
Shopping, eating and walking around
We hope to return next year for more sun
With our new friends aboard T.G. Ellyson
Good luck with the new crew member! Thanks and all the best.
Kim Stuart, Nicasio, California, October 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. What fun. Can't wait to
come again! Good luck with your new precious baby. Our best. Debie Stuart,
Nicasio, California, October 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. I make my log entry as we
prepare to disembark from our incredible seven-day adventure at sea. What a perfectly relaxed
honeymoon....The T.G. Ellyson should be renamed the Love Boat. As the last sail of the season, it was great
weather, wonderful quiet coves and great company. Although Amy didn't try lamb and octopus....
she did make it into the water, and hopefully our experience sailing will mean a little boat
for Paul in the near future. Gordon, thanks for your expert sailing direction....I'm still
working on the groove! Even our stormy day at sea didn't dissuade Amy. Jenny, thanks for our
great meals (French toast was excellent!) and your expert direction on Turkish carpets (double
and single knots!). Thanks for a wonderful tour of Turkey, two good friends....If you ever visit
New York we'll extend the hospitality! P.S. Please send pictures of Amy jumping off the
mountain!! Paul Darrah, New York City, October 1996
Flat Water Sailing Holiday. Dear Jenny and Gordon (aka
Poohie/Gordo), Thank you for helping to make our honeymoon everything we could hope it to be.
I may not have been as adventurous with my meals as you would have liked, but I think jumping
off a mountain more than makes up for that and I wouldn't have done it without your encouragement.
The sailing was fantastic, the weather was beautiful (for the most part) and we really enjoyed
our time with you. What else could you ask for! Good luck with the baby and if you're ever in NY
come sailing with us because after this experience I have a feeling we'll have a boat of our own
soon. Thanks for everything. Amy Darrah, New York City, October 1996

Further information about sailing Turkey's southwest coast may be obtained by clicking on the
underlined white links immediately above. Thank You. Crewed charter yacht sailing. A
crewed charter yacht sail on Turkey's southwest coast. A crewed yacht chartered in Turkey sailing to
Greece. A crewed yacht coming from Turkey to be chartered in Greece. Charter yachts are able to sail
Greece and sail Turkey at once. Could you be searching for a holiday or honeymoon sail in Turkey or
Greece? Well, if so, you have come to the right place. Our yachts holiday sail the Aegean, the Greek
Aegean and the Turkish Aegean. Yacht cruises among Greek islands. Yacht cruises along the Aegean
coast of Turkey. And along the southern Mediterranean coast of Turkey. Should you be searching for
the perfect octopus salad, there's every chance one of our yachts can help you find it. On your
honeymoon. On your anniversary. Or simply on your holiday. You might prefer to charter a crewed
sailing yacht to sail flat inshore waters between destinations not far apart, as did most of our
guests in 1996. That's what we have in the Gulfs of Fethiye and Gocek, the yachts and the flat water.
Surrounded by national forest, Gocek is located in the northwestern corner of the Gulf of Fethiye
twenty-five minutes by road from Dalaman International Airport. Dalaman is itself one hour and ten
minutes by air from Istanbul. That part of the Gulf of Fethiye behind islands on the west is called
the Gulf of Gocek. The Gulf of Gocek is home to numerous coves and bays as well as to a spirited
afternoon breeze. It is a
place of fun holidays characterized by fast sailing, clear swimming water, pine trees to the
water's edge, rustic dining from brick kilns, and by evidence of ancient civilization. The Gulf of
Gocek is the approximate border between ancient Caria to the northwest and ancient Lycia to the
southeast. It also reflects in two 4th century BC temple tombs influence of the city state of
Caunos (photo at left) forty minutes by road from Gocek and otherwise accessible to yacht
guests by river boat from Ekincik. The city of Fethiye is situated in the opposite inland corner
of the Gulf of Fethiye. Called Telmessos in Greek and Macry by Ottoman Turks, it, too, has two
fine temple tombs as well as an ancient acropolis improved by the Byzantines and, some say, then
by the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem. Between Gocek and Fethiye behind the gulf's north
shore may be found the ruins of Daedala, in ancient times a part of the incorporated state of
Rhodes. Daedala, too, has a temple tomb. Low mountains surround the gulf, one behind Fethiye of
6300-ft called Father Mountain from the top of which many of our guests paraglide, circling over
Butterfly Valley or over a pirate island and then landing thirty minutes later on a magnificent
sand beach. Does this sound like your kind of holiday? There is more, much more. Read what our
1996 guests said about it and contact us today at
